Puri Saraswati Ubud Bungalows is truly located in the center of Ubud, two minutes walk from the Ubud Market, the Ubud Royal Palace and Puri Lukisan Art Museum… but still only five minutes from beautifully terraced rice fields.
Ubud is recognized as the artistic and cultural center of Bali and appropriately, the goddess Saraswati represents the arts, knowledge and wisdom.
The Bungalows are adjacent to the famous Lotus Pond and acclaimed Café Lotus Restaurant. On selected evenings each week, award winning gamelan and dance groups perform on the Lotus Pond stage.
During the day, the stage is used to teach young boys and girls traditional Balinese dance. In the surrounding pavilions, young musicians practice gamelan. The area is alive with traditional artistic activity.
Great care has been taken to retain the traditional Balinese architecture and lush gardens, well known trademarks of the property.
The Bungalows
New rooms are comfortably furnished with individually controlled air conditioning, bathrooms are marble and every room has its own large, private veranda.
Puri Saraswati Ubud are set back from the street in a tranquil and serene garden. It is hard to believe that Ubud’s activity is so close to these quiet and calm surroundings.
The Bungalows have served guests for over 35 years. This very special hotel remains a part of the Ubud Royal Palace property and today three generations of the royal family make their home on the grounds.
You will see authentic Balinese ceremony and ritual as family and friends come and go. Don’t be surprised if you are invited to join them.
And in the adjoining Temple, activities vary from day to day.
One day it will be carvers creating masks for the mystical barong; another day artisans will be detailing newly created gamelan instruments; or perhaps gala preparations for a temple ceremony could be in process. You can also check Swim towards infinity: Villa Infinite Horizon
