The Nusa Islands are a trio of islands at the South Coast of Bali, Indonesia.
Consisting of the following Islands; Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan.
To visit the islands you can book a boat to Nusa Penida or Nusa Lembongan. This trip will take approximately 40 minutes and the boats are leaving a couple times a day. Please note that the boat trip can be quite rough, due to the high waves.
To visit Nusa Ceningan you have to cross the yellow bridge between Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan.
For Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningang, two days are enough to visit all the highlights on both islands . But if you want to relax a little bit it is better to book 2 nights. For Nusa Penida, which is way bigger than the other Nusa Island, it is best to take 2 full days to explore the island.
The biggest island is Nusa Penida. This island has a lot of beautifull beaches and unspoiled natural beauty. The infrastructure is not that good, but the charme and authenticy of the Island are making up for it.
The most famous place is Kelingking Beach, also known as T-Rex bay. This name is related to the rock that looks like the backbone of a dinosaur. The view is awesome and if you have the courage and the time, it is worth it to climb down all the stairs, so you are guaranteed of a private beach.
Another beautiful spot to visit is the famous diamond beach. Guaranteed for some beautiful pictures. To experience the ultimate nature feeling and have the best view, it’s recommended to book A Nusa Penida Treehouse. Book this on time, cause this spot is very popular.
Another spot you must see is Broken beach. This is a tunnel, which allows the ocean to flow in and makes a natural pool and perfect photo spot. You can end the day at Crystal Bay, to be surrounded by palm trees while watching the sunset.
Nusa Lembongan & Nusa Ceningan
After arriving on Mushroom beach with the boat, you will immediately fall in love. The blue water and white sand will welcome you on the Island.
After arrival it is best to hire a motorbike, because the island is so small. This is the best way to travel around the island and see everything. From Nusa Lembongang it is also easy to ride to Nusa Ceningan via the yellow bridge.
The most famous spot on Nusa Ceningan is Blue Lagoon. This place lives up to its name, because here you will find the most blue water. There is a nice restaurant where you can eat and watch the view. The beach is not easy to swim on because there is no path to the beach itself. Some people jump from a cliff into the water, but this is not recommendable due to the waves.
Another beach where you can swim and also has blue and clearest water is Secret beach. A small beach with white sand, very peaceful and authentic.
Besides all the beaches there are also unique cave pools to visit. The most famous one, located on Nusa Lembongan is Devils Tear. It is impressive to look at cause the waves come crashing in and blowing up the mist for a while. You should be careful and not go too close to the cove because it the power of the water is very dangerous and can make you fall down.
Nusa Lembongang has a lot to offer for a small island, it also has a mangrove forest to visit. Really clear water and beautiful nature can be found. It is best to pay for a boat trip with a guide which will take you around the mangrove forest for approximately 30 minutes.
