When you visit Bali, this is a must see! The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary or also named Ubud Monkey Forest is a nature reserve and temple complex in Ubud, Bali.
About 1000 monkeys live in this area. They are divided into 7 groups. Each group has their own area and consists of 100-200 monkeys. The types of monkeys that live in this area are known as the Balinese long-tailed monkey. In English it is called; macaque.
Besides the monkeys, the small rainforest is also a beautiful place to walk around. A natural oasis, filled with temples, ancient trees and serene rivers. The place provides an essential sanctuary to the monkeys but is also a spiritual significance for the local people.

- Don’t bring food inside
- Watch your belongings, some monkeys will steal it to trade it for food.
- Don’t make eye contact with the monkeys.
- Don’t enter the temple area without Balinese praying clothes
