About 1000 monkeys live in this area. They are divided into 7 groups. Each group has their own area and consists of 100-200 monkeys. The types of monkeys that live in this area are known as the Balinese long-tailed monkey. In English it is called; macaque.

Besides the monkeys, the small rainforest is also a beautiful place to walk around. A natural oasis, filled with temples, ancient trees and serene rivers. The place provides an essential sanctuary to the monkeys but is also a spiritual significance for the local people.

  • Don’t bring food inside
  • Watch your belongings, some monkeys will steal it to trade it for food. 
  • Don’t make eye contact with the monkeys.
  • Don’t enter the temple area without Balinese praying clothes

The Monkey Forest is open daily from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
